Jennie Drake Park “rounded up” over 120 tires in the District 9 Tire Roundup, sponsored by Atlanta City Council Member Felicia Moore. Thanks to all of our volunteers: Adefemi Olateru, Adefola Olateru, Jamal Muhammad, LaVelle Randall, Sirius Bennett, Sire Irving, Stanley Riley (and his van), Gerald Mabry, Michael Howard, Jane Davis (and her Volvo wagon), Trisha Williams (and her truck), and Connie Mabry.
It was a soggy Saturday, but ten volunteers worked to clean the Park and to do clerical work in preparation for our May 3rd dedication. Those attending were Elise Bennett, Michael Drake, Pauline Drake, Jim Gantner, Terry Harrington, Bryan Jenkins, Leola McKinney, and Spellman College students Adrienne Scandrett, Cheryl Triplett, and Jonelle Green. We also had four children who volunteered along with their parents.
