On April 27th, Jennie Drake Park participated in the 2024 iNaturalist City Nature Challenge- a yearly event where participants locate and identify plants and animals in their natural habitat. The results are uploaded and compared to other participants around the world. As part of the Atlanta challenge, we were able to identify seventeen different species in Jennie Drake Park: Japanese maple, Christmas fern, Common Dewberry, Hooked Buttercup, and Spiderworts, to name a few. The Atlanta Challenge had 787 participants, 9554 observations, and 1880 species identified.
