JDP April 18th Work Session

It was a soggy Saturday, but ten volunteers worked to clean the Park and to do clerical work in preparation for our May 3rd dedication. Those attending were Elise Bennett, Michael Drake, Pauline Drake, Jim Gantner, Terry Harrington, Bryan Jenkins, Leola McKinney, and Spellman College students Adrienne Scandrett, Cheryl Triplett, and Jonelle Green. We also had four children who volunteered along with their parents.

Message from Pauline Drake

Dear Neighbors and Friends:

We have wonderful news! The first entrance to the Jennie Drake Park (JDP) is finished. We thank you for your support. The entrance is located opposite 674 Waterford Road and next to 681 Waterford. If you ordered a brick, we invite you to stop by the park to find your brick. You will also find photos and a link to a video on the website.

We will have a Park entrance dedication on May 3rd at 3pm. The dedication will be a time to celebrate the accomplishment of this first step in achieving our vision for the park. Creating a more permanent walking trail will be our next major project.

It is not too late to have an engraved brick in place before the dedication. If you already have a brick in the park, we encourage you to order another brick and to let your friends and neighbors know about the commemorative brick project. An order form can be found here.

In order for your bricks to be installed before the dedication, you must place your order by March 31, 2015.

We are truly grateful for your support. If you have questions or suggestions, please call or email me, or contact a member of the steering committee.

Sincerely,

Pauline E. Drake, Chair

Steering Committee, Friends of Jennie Drake Park
